Existe un lugar único en Calabria, rodeado de olivos centenarios, entre colinas y a pocos kilómetros del mar…es aquí donde nace el Borgo del Convento (Petrizzi, Catanzaro).
Un emplazamiento imponente y sugestivo, ideal para aquellas parejas amantes de lo auténtico y que deseen celebrar su boda en un ambiente distinguido, exclusivo y rebosante de arte e historia. El Borgo del Convento es uno de los monumentos adscritos al Patrimonio de Bienes Culturales del Ministerio italiano.
Fue construido en el siglo XV y gracias a los actuales propietarios, ha sido restaurado con mucho cariño y dedicación, con el objetivo de salvaguardar su historia y tradición.
Gracias a ello, ahora podemos disfrutar de este emplazamiento fascinante.
De una gran extensión dispone de varios espacios donde poder organizar bodas y eventos de todo tipo. Cuenta con dos iglesias y una pequeña capilla, un claustro, salones interiores, una gran sala conocida como “Rueca de los Monjes” y los espléndidos jardines. Os muestro más detalles a continuación:
Iglesia “a cielo abierto”
Seguramente la parte más fascinante de todo el Convento, en este místico lugar, entre sus paredes de piedra y bajo la luz directa de los rayos del sol (o la luna) es posible celebrar la ceremonia nupcial.
Jardín principal
Un amplio jardín de 300 m² decorado con antiguas fuentes construidas en piedra antigua. Este espacio tiene un aforo de 250 invitados y es perfecto para organizar el cóctel de bienvenida.
El Claustro
El claustro es uno de los lugares preferidos por los novios. Esta gran sala al aire libre, protegida por cuatro paredes y un hermoso pórtico, es perfecta para la celebración del banquete y puede albergar hasta 180 invitados.
Salones interiores
El Convento cuenta también con varios salones interiores donde poder celebrar el banquete. Estos, han sido restaurados conservando toda su autenticidad, y es posible admirar sus majestuosas alfombras, los suelos originales o las ventanas con vistas al claustro.
Filatoio dei Monaci (La Rueca de los Monjes)
Es una gran sala con paredes de piedra antigua, capaz de albergar hasta 200 invitados. Gracias a su versatilidad, viene utilizada normalmente para organizar el open bar, celebrar el baile o el corte de la tarta nupcial, entre otras muchas cosas.
Suite principal y habitaciones
El Borgo del Convento dispone de una suite principal y 13 habitaciones para poder hospedar a los invitados que así lo deseen. Las habitaciones, decoradas con sumo cuidado, han sido restauradas respetando los elementos arquitéctonicos antiguos.
El Borgo del Convento colabora desde hace años con los mejores profesionales de la zona, es por ello que ofrecen también servicios de decoración, música y catering personalizado según las preferencias de los novios: desde platos típicos de la cocina tradicional italiana hasta cocina gourmet. Disponen también de menús para personas intolerantes/alérgicas, celíacos, vegetarianos y veganos.
